ABOUT THE POSITION: The Marin County Human Resources Department and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office are announcing a recruitment for the position of Coroner’s Investigator. Coroner’s Investigators investigate and report death cases which fall within the jurisdiction of the Marin County Sheriff’s Office – Coroner’s Division. Incumbents in this position take charge of the death scene and the body of the deceased, safeguard the personal property of the deceased, and locate and notify the next of kin.
ABOUT YOU: The ideal candidate will have knowledge of coroner laws and operational procedures within the State of California. They will have the ability to work independently, yet cohesively, with the agencies we are involved with daily. The ideal candidate has experience in testifying in court or similar proceedings as a subject matter expert or a representative of a public agency. In addition, the ideal candidate works collaboratively and successfully with team members, law enforcement personnel, and others contacted through the course of work, including those who are under severe emotional distress.
